A window installation company in Cedar Rapids was having trouble bidding accurately. To help with this, I put together a tool to determine each employee’s labor costs including pay, benefits, supervision costs, and overhead. A second tool was created that used these costs to put together more accurate estimates. And a third tool was created that would use statistics to analyze completed jobs on a number of variables, and use that information to more accurately predict labor hours for future jobs.
For many different restaurants I have created tools that allow them to build “recipes” from various ingredients, which then calculate costs and profit margins based on the individual ingredient prices. They can also import invoices, which are read by the tool so that it can automatically update the ingredient prices. This ensures that costs and margins are always up to date.
